SupportThe project “Faces of the Ukrainian Dream,” initiated by the public organization “All-Ukrainian Association ‘Patriot’” continues its important mission — to tell the world about Ukrainian children, their experiences, resilience of spirit, and bright dreams. The eleventh foreign exhibition of the project recently opened in Belgrade.
On June 10, at the Miljenko Dereta space in the capital of Serbia, within the framework of the 4th Festival of Art and Human Rights organized by Dah Teatar, the ceremonial opening of the exhibition of children’s drawings and stories took place. Visitors had the opportunity to become acquainted with the sincere and emotional works of young Ukrainians, who, despite the horrors of war, preserve their faith in a better future.
At the opening, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Serbia, Volodymyr Tolkach, delivered a speech. In his address, he emphasized the extraordinary importance of humanity, support, and international solidarity in times when the childhood of Ukrainian children passes under the constant sounds of air raid alarms.
Preparation for this exhibition began as early as last year. The first steps became possible thanks to the support of the America House Kyiv. Further organization required close cooperation with Serbian partners, despite the significant distance. Months of communication, joint decisions, and mutual belief in the necessity of holding this exhibition precisely now in Belgrade culminated in success.
The team of the “All-Ukrainian Association ‘Patriot’” is deeply convinced that cultural diplomacy is a powerful instrument capable of uniting hearts and fostering understanding of those realities that are difficult to convey through statistics or dry news. Art helps to speak about the war emotionally and to build broad international support. The organization will continue to make every effort so that the voices of Ukrainian children are heard on the world stage — sincerely, deeply, and truthfully. After all, every child’s dream is an investment in the future, for which it is worth fighting.
