The shelter in Zaporizhzhia has become a symbol of resilience and support for internally displaced persons. Its creation was a response to the challenges faced by thousands of Ukrainians. Despite all difficulties and dangers, the shelter continues to operate, providing essential assistance to those who need it most.
Key Events and Areas of Support
The project exists thanks to the efforts of the team and the support of numerous partners, who collectively overcome challenges. This week, several key initiatives were implemented at the shelter:
- Psychological and Legal Support: With the assistance of the CF “East SOS”, shelter residents received qualified psychological and legal support, which is critically important for their rehabilitation and adaptation.
- Volunteer Activities and Support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine: Shelter residents, together with the NGOs “Volunteer Association ‘I Believe in Ukraine’” and “Under the Umbrella”, wove and delivered necessary camouflage nets for the defenders of the 117th Brigade. This demonstrates an active civic position and the desire to help the army even under conditions of forced displacement.
- Medical Assistance and Rehabilitation: Four residents who underwent ophthalmologist consultations received free lens replacement surgeries. In particular, Mrs. Olga Ivanivna, whose story we shared earlier, now has the chance to see the world in all its colors again.
These events are a vivid example of collaborative work aimed at supporting internally displaced persons and assisting the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
