SupportToday, the world marks the International Day of Charity.
For Ukraine, this day holds special significance, especially now. When the enemy tries every day to break us, charity and volunteering have become a marker of our resilience. It is on the shoulders of benefactors and volunteers that so much rests today, allowing us to persevere:
– the wounded receive a chance to survive thanks to the supply of tactical medicine,
– defenders have equipment, essential gear, and vehicles,
– hospitals continue to operate even under shelling,
– IDP families and those affected by the war find support,
– rescuers receive the resources to pull people from under the rubble.
The UN established this day in memory of Mother Teresa to remind the world that charity saves lives. For Ukraine today, it is a daily practice and a harsh routine.
An example of this is our joint work with our British partners, North Cotswolds Rotary, and Ms. Lorraine Staniek. This week, we delivered medical supplies to Kyiv Regional Children’s Hospital No. 2 in Bila Tserkva. The hospital team does its work despite the shelling! And today, two more pallets of aid from our British friends set off to their recipients.
We also sincerely thank all our friends and partners, everyone who holds this frontline, no matter what!
Charity has many faces. It is not only large shipments or funding. It is also blood donation, free training, support for those in need, and the time people devote to weaving nets or packing first-aid kits. It is those who live their professional lives but still find room in their hearts for good deeds.
Each of you is another chance for the country to endure and for a soldier to return to their loved ones. We thank everyone who is already with us. And to those who are still hesitating, we call: join in. Every action matters.
Together, we prove to the world: charity is not a gesture of goodwill.
It is a force that brings Victory closer.
