SupportDespite the darkness and pain brought by the war, Ukrainian children continue to dream, and their dreams are the strongest light helping us not to lose hope. The project “Faces of the Ukrainian Dream,” initiated by the NGO “All-Ukrainian Association Patriot,” continues its important mission — collecting and sharing these voices of children with the world.
Each stage of the project begins with a simple yet profound question: “What has changed in your life since February 24, 2022?” The children’s answer is always the same: “Everything has changed. Life has changed.”
This generation was forced to grow up too soon. They draw ruins and smoke, yet their artworks are filled with the light that breaks through the darkness. “My drawing is about the value of peace, the power of hope, and the necessity to support each other. At the center is a girl with a lantern, as if trying to bring light and hope back to a dark reality,” writes 10-year-old Kira, demonstrating the incredible depth of her perception.
Children dream of a life where they do not have to hide from sirens, of returning home, meeting friends, and finding peace. Their dreams are a powerful reminder of the value of a peaceful life. “My drawing is about peace after the war. Life becomes bright again. People can create. Build new dreams,” shares Daryna Danilchenko.
These drawings are not just children’s creativity. They are a guidepost for adults, reminding us why we fight. The Public Organisation “All-Ukrainian Association Patriot” believes we cannot ignore these voices. Our responsibility is to work every day so that children’s dreams become reality and their future is bright and safe.
