SupportThe project “Faces of the Ukrainian Dream” continues to reveal to the world the unique stories and dreams of Ukrainian children. The second stage of the project showed that space is one of the greatest sources of inspiration for young Ukrainians, who, despite the war, dream of a grand future.
In the children’s works submitted to the project, fantastic starships, intergalactic research stations, and intelligent devices are depicted. Children imagine themselves as future engineers, explorers of distant planets, and bearers of Ukrainian values into the depths of the universe.
“Our kindergartens and schools have been bombed, and we study in basements. My drawing is about Ukraine becoming peaceful and free, and how Ukrainians become leaders in space exploration,” shares 6-year-old Maria Pavelko. Her words emphasize that even under the most difficult conditions, a child’s mind aspires not only for peace but also for great achievements.
12-year-old Yelyzaveta Yan imagined an astronaut looking at constellations shaped like the borders of Ukraine. According to her, “the main goal of my work is to show that the Ukrainian dream reaches far beyond Earth.”
These works vividly demonstrate that, despite war, pain, and loss, Ukrainian children have not lost their ability to dream. Their drawings and stories are full of faith in science, technology, and the power to make the world a better place. They believe in themselves, in their country, and its future. This is a generation growing up to the sound of sirens, yet thinking on a grand and inspired scale. They are our future scientists, creators, and leaders — the true faces of the Ukrainian dream.
