On January 22, 1919, Ukrainians made a historic choice – to be together.
On that day, the Act of Unification was proclaimed, which united not only lands, but also the hearts of people, different in origin and experience, yet united in their aspiration for freedom.
Today, when Ukraine is once again going through difficult trials, unity takes on a special meaning.
It is not only about maps and borders.
It is about mutual support, responsibility for one another, and the ability to stand together even when it is painful and hard.
Our unity is reflected in the military and volunteers, in cities and villages, in those who are at home and those who are far away, yet with Ukraine in their hearts.
Each of us matters. But only together are we strong.
Today, unity is our support, our weapon, and our hope.
A unity that has withstood more than a century will endure now as well.
Happy Unity Day of Ukraine!
