That is what the dreams of our future first-graders sound like. 💙
We asked the participants of the “Faces of the Ukrainian Dream” project to tell us what they imagine their first day of school will be like.
Their words are filled with a little nervousness, lots of curiosity, and that unmistakable childlike anticipation of a new chapter: the first school bell, their first teacher, new friends, and their first discoveries.
Our future first-graders are children from frontline areas of the Kherson, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, Chernihiv, and Sumy regions. They include children of military personnel, children from large families, and children from families who continue to persevere despite the challenges of war.
We want to help them take this first step with confidence.
