Interview Within the “For Her” Project with Kateryna Neminska

Within the framework of the “For Her” project, we continue a series of interviews with women who are currently serving in the military. Kateryna holds the position of Head of the Psychological Support and Recovery Group and works every day on tasks that require concentration, responsibility, and resilience. Despite her young age, she already has significant experience and a clear understanding of her role.

During her studies, she completed the military department and in 2020 received the rank of Junior Lieutenant of the Reserve. At the age of twenty, she tried to join the military, going through numerous interviews, but constantly faced biased attitudes and refusals. Over time, she was forced to take a pause and postpone her attempts.

In 2022, after the start of the full-scale invasion, Kateryna decided to return to her intention to serve. She enrolled at a university to obtain a qualification as a psychologist and to join the military in this role. This became a logical continuation of her path.

Her story is about perseverance, inner resilience, and the ability not to give up on one’s own choice even when circumstances make you wait longer than planned.
