Yesterday we delivered medicines to the endocrinology department of the National Children’s Specialized Hospital “Okhmatdyt”. The medications were purchased thanks to the financial support of our friends and partners from the United Kingdom.
Life often proves that even small actions carry real weight. Support and solidarity stop being abstract words when they turn into concrete decisions: to raise funds, organize a trip, hold a public action, and deliver assistance.
After the attack on the hospital, the Ukrainian community of the city of Milton Keynes did not stay aside. Support events for Ukraine took place, including a public appeal aimed at drawing the attention of the international community to the protection of medical institutions and children. The trip and coordination of the initiative were organized by Viktoriya Shtanko with the support of Ukraine Appeal. This was a clear signal: the lives of Ukrainian children are not an internal issue of one country, but a matter of shared human responsibility.
The fundraising was carried out thanks to Sunflower School, the Milton Keynes community, and caring individuals. The total amount raised was £500.
With these funds, we purchased:
— 100 vials of the medication “Thiogamma Turbo”;
— 13 vials of zoledronic acid.
The transferred medicines will be used for the treatment of children with endocrine diseases.
We are grateful to everyone in the United Kingdom who joined this initiative. Each such contribution is an example of how international solidarity turns into real support for children in Ukrainian hospitals.
