SupportOn May 10th, a special sense of warmth filled the cozy courtyard of the Ukrainian Cultural Centre in Tallinn. To mark Mother’s Day, the Ukrainian Women’s Association in Estonia organized a heartfelt celebration where Ukrainian poetry and children’s voices intertwined with the melodies of Estonian folk dances and Ukrainian songs.
Children presented flowers to their mothers and shared sincere words of love and gratitude, while each performance served as a reminder that a mother’s support is what sustains us even through the darkest times.
The event brought together Ukrainians and friends of Ukraine around simple yet profoundly important values – family, care, and mutual support. Over tea, homemade treats, and warm conversations, a sense of home emerged, something especially meaningful when far from one’s homeland.
We sincerely thank Vira Shchannikova and Liliia Ivanchenko for the invitation and for creating an atmosphere in which every guest felt part of one large Ukrainian family.
A particularly meaningful part of the event was a charity raffle held in support of our For Her project.
Guests had the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets, receive small commemorative gifts, and, at the same time, support the women who are currently serving and defending Ukraine.
Thanks to the generosity of those who participated, €260 was raised to purchase tactical organizer pouches for female service members.
It was especially symbolic that, on Mother’s Day, support was extended to women who today carry not only the responsibility of their families, but also that of defending their country. Women who have exchanged their everyday lives for military uniforms, yet have never ceased to be daughters, mothers, wives, and guardians of their families.
We thank everyone who took part. Because even the smallest contribution serves as a reminder to our defenders that they are remembered, valued, and awaited.
