SupportYesterday, within the walls of the legendary Bletchley Park — the place where, during the Second World War, Nazi codes were deciphered to save thousands of lives and bring victory closer — for the first time in all these years, a Ukrainian exhibition was presented within these walls, and for the first time, the voices of Ukrainian children were heard.
It was here that the ceremonial opening of our exhibition “Faces of the Ukrainian Dream” took place — and it became a symbolic event that united the past and the present.
This exhibition became possible thanks to well-coordinated cooperation and perseverance. A synergy that brought together us, Ukrainians in the United Kingdom, and the British people who support Ukraine in this terrible and bloody new war in Europe.
We sincerely thank our co-organizer Viktoria Shtanko, CEO of Ukraine Appeal, for the titanic efforts to make this event happen right here, in the heart of history. We thank the Bletchley Park Trust and every volunteer who contributed to the preparations. We express our gratitude to the Embassy of Ukraine in the United Kingdom and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine for supporting projects that carry to the world a powerful message that is heard in every child’s drawing:
At the opening, there were honored guests whose words gave the event special weight: The King’s Representative, Lady Howe (Lord Lieutenant of Milton Keynes), Lord Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire, and Mayor of Milton Keynes, James Lancaster Cllr James Lancaster.
They expressed sincere support for Ukrainian children and the Ukrainian people, emphasizing that this exhibition should travel through the cities of the United Kingdom so that as many people as possible can see and hear these children’s stories.
It is hard to remain indifferent when you see and hear how the youngest are asking for only one thing — to live in a world without explosions, losses, and tears. It is precisely these dreams that give us strength and inspire us to continue our work, so that Ukrainian children have the right to a happy childhood, which today has been taken from them by war.
