SupportIt has been a while since we shared a behind-the-scenes look at the “For Her” project. Today, we want to openly share what goes into every care package received by Ukrainian women service members.
In March, we were forced to temporarily close the registration form. In just two days, we received more than 600 applications. This response was a testament to the great trust in the project, but at the same time, it became an enormous challenge, as every care package requires time, resources, and teamwork.
Our main goal remains unchanged — for every woman service member who has reached out to us to receive her care package and feel that she is remembered and cared for.
One of the biggest challenges has been the production of tactical toiletry bags. Their production takes time, and due to the high workload and limited funding, deliveries have been arriving gradually. Although the fundraising campaign to produce the toiletry bags was launched back in late March, we have still not been able to raise the full amount needed, which has left us with an outstanding debt to the manufacturer.
The assembly of the care packages has been another challenging stage. We reached out to dozens of Ukrainian companies, sent letters, made calls, and negotiated potential partnerships. Not every request received a positive response, but thanks to our persistence, we now have partners who donate their products for our women defenders.
Despite all the challenges, our organization funded the latest purchase of hygiene products with its own funds. We purchased:
- 100 roll-on deodorants;
- 100 packs of panty liners;
- 100 packs of intimate hygiene wet wipes;
- 100 packs of sanitary pads;
- 100 packs of cotton pads.
We would like to express our special gratitude to Humanitarian Nova Poshta, which continuously supports the project and helps deliver care packages free of charge to women service members across Ukraine. Last week alone, we sent more than 100 packages to our women defenders.
Despite the work already completed, we still have many outstanding applications and continue working every day to ensure that every woman service member who has reached out to us receives her care package.
