Support“I dream that there will be no more war in my country, that all destroyed cities will be rebuilt…” – this is how most responses begin when asked: “What is your biggest dream for Ukraine?” These words reflect the deep aspirations and hope of our nation.
We are pleased to announce the successful completion of the second stage of the “Faces of the Ukrainian Dream” project. We collected 358 children’s works from all 24 regions of Ukraine, as well as from 10 countries where Ukrainian children are currently living. These are not just drawings or models – they are real visions in which children not only dream but design the future of their country.
In their works, children draw modern peaceful cities, create models of playgrounds and schools filled with the joyful laughter of friends instead of sirens. They design housing for displaced families, robots for demining, advanced aircraft, and much more. Some even dream of having their own Disneyland – right here in Ukraine. One boy wrote: “I decided I won’t go to Disneyland after the war. I’ll wait until they build one in our New Ukraine.” This reflects their unshakable belief in the country’s recovery and progress.
Among the participants, the most popular themes were “My Modern Dream Country” (44.8% of works) and “Ukrainians are Unbreakable!” (44.1% of works), highlighting both the desire for peace and pride in their people.
The project also included children whose parents are defending Ukraine or have died on the front lines fighting the aggressor. These are children who haven’t seen their homes in a long time, drawing cities like Popasna, Volnovakha, Mariupol, Enerhodar, and others from memory. They include children from Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia regions – those who have survived occupation, left temporarily occupied territories, or are still living under occupation. Their dreams are not just childhood fantasies – they are direct responses to a harsh reality. They write: “My childhood has changed. Instead of playing outside, we played in the basement. Instead of school celebrations, silence. But we have become stronger. I dream of helping Ukraine.”
This stage of the project is not about carefree childhoods from storybooks – it’s about the mature and practical dreams of young individuals who are already shaping a vision for the future. We are deeply grateful to everyone who participated, supported, shared information, and reminded a child that their voice matters.
We are now actively reviewing the collected works and planning exhibitions in Ukraine and abroad so that these powerful children’s voices can be heard around the world.
